Parece que la “guerra” de imágenes y críticas que desde hace meses mantienen Telecinco y La Sexta acaba de librar una “batalla” que de momento ha ganado la cadena de Mediaset y es que un juez ha prohibído La Sexta que emita imágenes de Telecinco en sus programas Sé lo que hicistéis y El Intermedio según informó El Pais.

¿No será que están cansados de que se rian de ellos en su cara, y con toda la razón del mundo? Que dejen de sacar a frikis y hacer telebasura, y seguro que no sacan imagenes metiendose con ellos.

La sentencia no sólo contempla el fallo del juez sino que además la cadena que preside Emilio Aragón deberá indemnizar a Telecinco por daños y perjuicios cuya cuantía se establecerá posteriormente.

La demanda se interpuso en el juzgado numero 1 de Barcelona y el lunes pasado se dió la resolución por lo que ambos programas antes mencionados ya no pueden emitir imágenes de ninguno de los programas de Telecinco.

En el fallo, el juez estima parcialmente la demanda de Telecinco, considera que La Sexta “ha infringido los derechos de propiedad intelectual” del demandante y por tanto condena a esta cadena “a que cese de inmediato en la actividad infractora”, o, lo que es lo mismo, a dejar de utilizar “en sus programas imágenes producidas por Telecinco o emitidas en programas de Telecinco y de la que ésta es titular de todos los derechos”.

De momento no está todo dicho ya que La Sexta tiene cinco días para poder recurrir aunque el hecho que se haya emitido la demanda significa que podría ser un precedente para todas las otras cadenas que de hecho emiten programas de zapping que se nutren de imágenes del resto de cadenas aunque en el caso de La Sexta y Telecinco era de esperar que la cadena tomara medidas ya que programas como Sé lo que hicistéis ha sido desde sus comienzos un espacio de crítica constante a los espacios de la cadena de Mediaset que por cierto y por si se han olvidado también emiten imágenes de La Sexta.

July 18 was the day of the finals. I was so nervous that time becaues we're not that prepared. I hoped that we could win the contest but unfortunately, we only ranked 4th place. I learned that everyone is important in a group so we must give them importance. All must cooperate so that the outcome will be good.

A thought occurred to me that if that happened to me, I would be SOL and up the creek without a paddle.  So I go on my file system and go through each drive, each folder, each file, and either start deleting them or moving them off to a personal drive.  Low and behold, buried deep inside the bits and bytes of my file system, I come across this picture.

Ahhh, brought back memories of that moment like it was yesterday.  Here we are, Gia, Angela and myself.  Once teammates, compatriots, comrades, happy to be working together, tackling customer problems
and solving their business needs.  Doing Social Networking old school style.  Ironically when that picture was taken, Social Networking NexGen was just starting to be a viable supplement to the old tried and true, albeit out of date, in fostering innovations, collaborating, and transferring knowledge from the "old farts" to the "know it all brats".

So here's the three of us, unknowing competitors then, and direct competitors now.  Both work for Jive Software, while I along with an army of fellow ITS', hold down the fort.  Although we are corporate enemies now,  these two diamonds in the rough, are and will always be my friends.

    เมื่อเปลี่ยนให้เป็นภาษาอังกฤษแล้วหน้าตาก็จะออกมาเป็นสากลแบบนี้

ถ้าเราเข้าเวปที่มีการใช้ Flash เราก็สามารถทำการติดตั้ง Flash Player ได้ด้วยการคลิกเพียงครั้งเดียว

ต่อ ๆ ไปเราจะมาผ่าโปรแกรมดัง ๆ ดูทีละตัวเลยครับ อย่าลืมน๊ะครับว่าเมื่อเราลงลินุกซ์ทะเลเสร็จแล้วก็เท่ากับว่าเราได้โปรแกรมที่พร้อมใช้งานได้เลยโดยไม่ต้องมานั่งลงโปรแกรม(ผีบ้าง ไม่ผีบ้าง)กันต่ออีก

กลับมาที่ Linux เค้าว่ากันว่าบิดาของ Linux ชื่อ Linus Torvalds หน้าตาแกเป็นแบบนี้

แต่ Linux โตขึ้นมาได้ไม่ใช่เพราะ Linus คนเดียว แต่เป็นสังคมของคนที่เห็นตรงกัน ช่วยเหลือกัน เขียนโปรแกรมด้วยกัน ร่วมกันแก้ปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นกับโปรแกรมและ ฯลฯ (ภาษาต่างด้าวเรียกว่า community มั้ง) และเนื่องจากไม่ว่าคุณจะเป็นใครก็สามารถเอาเจ้า Linux ไปพัฒนาต่อได้ ดัดแปลงได้ตามความต้องการจึงทำให้ Linux แตกออกไปเป็นระบบปฏิบัติการณ์ที่น่าจะมีหลายชื่อหลายตัวมากที่สุดในโลก (ภาษาต่างด้าวเรียกว่าหลาย distro) ใครอยากอ่านประวัติหรือที่มาที่ไปของ Linux แบบเต็ม ๆ ก็เชิญสอบถามได้จากอากู๋หรือว่าน้องวิกกี้ได้เลยครับ

ขอผ่านเรื่องของประวัติศาสตร์ไปก่อนครับ เราจะเข้าสู่ยุคปัจจุบันซึ่งเรามี OS ที่เป็นสัญชาติไทยแล้ว แล้วก็ออกมาหลายรุ่นแล้วโดยชื่อของมันก็คือ ลินุกซ์ทะเล นับจากเริ่มต้นมาจนถึงวันนี้ก็มี version 8 แล้ว ส่วน version 9 ก็เป็น beta 2 แล้ว เราคงได้เห็นตัวเต็ม ๆ ในเร็ววัน แต่ถึงจะไม่เต็มผมก็จะแนะนำให้เอาไปเล่นกัน (ผมตั้งใจว่าจะทำไปพร้อม ๆ กับพวกเรานี่หล่ะครับ โดยอาศัย VMWare ไปก่อน ก่อนจะลงไปสู่การติดตั้งลงเครื่องจริง ๆ ที่แนะนำแบบนี้เพราะผมถือคติปลอดภัยไว้ก่อนครับ ส่วนใครที่เป็นระดับ Advance แล้วจะข้ามไปโดยไปหาความรู้ที่เวปของ ลินุกซ์ทะเล เองเลยก็ได้น๊ะครับ ที่นั่นมีคนมากมายที่พร้อมจะข่วยมือใหม่ให้เข้าสู่โลกของ Linux ได้ง่ายขึ้นครับ)

OS ที่น่าจะถือว่ามีผู้ใช้งานมากที่สุดในโลกคือหน้าต่างหลายบาน (ก็แน่ล่ะ ไม่งั้น Bill Gate มันจะรวยอะไรได้มากขนาดนั้น) ลองลงมาน่าจะเป็น Apple (โดนกัด) ถัดมาก็เป็น Ubuntu (จริงเท็จไม่ต้องถามเพราะผมมั่วเอาล้วน ๆ) แล้วก็เป็น Ubuntu นี่หล่ะที่ลินุกซ์ทะเล version 9 หยิบเอามาพัฒนาต่อยอด

มาถึงเรื่องสำคัญแล้วครับนั่นก็คือท่านควรจะมีสิ่งเหล่านี้ก่อนที่เราจะลงดำน้ำทะเลกัน

เข้าทำนองเราว่ายน้ำยังไม่แข็งแรงแต่ก็ต้องลงไปว่ายน้ำ(ไม่ว่าจะโดยตั้งใจหรือถูกเพื่อน ๆ ถีบลงไปก็ตาม) ก็น่าจะเตรียมตัวไว้ก่อน เอาน่ายังไงเสียมันก็ไม่แย่เท่ากับโดนฟ้าพิฆาตจากหน้าต่างหลายบานหรอกครับ ฮ่า ๆ

Inovis is continuously striving to become a bigger and stronger force every day. One of our biggest weapons at the moment is automation. Our automation process has saved a lot of time and sanity. If your company is looking to gain more efficiency, perhaps automation is a good solution for you.

Traditional testing includes writing test cases, executing tests by hand, and recording results. We are currently using automation for Inovis Catalogue, BizManager, Inovisworks, TLE, and will be starting our automation process with Inovis Webware shortly.

We have tools with our automation process that are related to our quality center that allow us to do something once, record the steps that we took to do them, and then automate them. We either run a script or use a program that can simulate the manual process.

This process is extremely valuable. It allows us to do a lot more work in the same amount of time, or do a lot more work in a lot less time. For example, with BizManager automation, we’ve got a process that would require forty hours of manual work, and that’s the platform certification. There are about a hundred and twenty combinations of that, so if we were going to do that, it would take two years for one person to get all of the platforms certified manually. We have automated the process, and the initial results are about 85% time savings. We can also run multiple threads of that at once, so in a week’s time, I can automate everything, and do way more than I could ever possibly imagine doing if we were doing it by hand. That helps us validate that the software is of the quality that we want it to be, and it helps us certify for the Sales and Marketing folks, and for the Product Managers that we have the validation that it works on all of these platforms. I can tell someone like Joe Boyle, “You can go sell this because we’ve tested it, and it does what we said it was going to do, and it meets all of the requirements on all of these platforms, rather than just the one or two platforms that we’ve been able to use for testing.”

Automation is also going to be used for regression testing. Any time coding is changed or a program is changed, there’s likelihood that something else you didn’t think was going to change was, in fact, changed. In this circumstance, we use automation to perform regression testing. This is the process of going back and seeing what shouldn’t have changed and making sure it didn’t change. We make sure it still works right. Our Inovis Catalogue is using automation for regression, and BizManager is going to be undergoing that process next. TLE is next in line after Inovis Catalogue.

There are a lot of things we want to automate, because we don’t have enough people to do everything. If we had an endless supply of hours and resources, we could do a heck of a job. Automation will put into place solutions that are very stable and competitive. If I were testing a web page, I could do it once, record what I’m doing, and automation would pick it up and do it a thousand times faster and better than I could ever do it by hand. It will leverage the effort of one pass or two passes through, and get a whole lot out of it. And, as we look at growing the company with acquisitions and other strategies, we’re going to need to be able to do a lot more work, a lot more new things, and still maintain what we currently have and do. So, we’re going to need the automation in place to help that happen.

Our other big use for automation at the moment is outsourcing testing. We have several offshore engagements going on at the moment, and we’re trying to figure things out through automation.

As you can see, automation is doing a lot for our company’s progress.

The model 1911 is the most popular pistol in the world. Dozens of companies manufacture them and the old adage "you get what you pay for" doesn't always apply in today's market. One can pay twice the money for a new 'custom' pistol that won't perform nearly like the Kimber Custom TLE/RL II from Kimber America.

With an MSRP of $1113 for the blued version, and $1262 for stainless, I got a deal at $799 NIB from GunsAmerica.com.

Back in 2002, in its search for a new 1911 pistol, the LAPD SWAT Team selected to test pistols from what it considered the top five 1911 manufacturers. As one would expect, testing was rigorous. Every aspect was tested, retested and evaluated, one against the other. One by one, the guns were eliminated until the final selection was made. Kimber not only won, but won impressively.

If you think the Kimber 1911 model tested by LAPD SWAT was a top-of-the-line Kimber Custom Shop model, think again. It was none other than Kimber's 'entry level' 1911 -- the Kimber Custom II.

Though Kimber's classifies it a "basic" 1911, the Kimber Custom Tactical Law Enforcement w/Rail (TLE/RL) II still comes with plenty of special features to qualify its name. These include fixed 3-dot night sights, speed hammer, match-grade frame, slide, barrel, bushing, and chamber. A polished breach face, lowered/flared ejection port, 5- pound trigger, extended thumb safety, high-ride "beavertail" grip safety, beveled magazine well, and slightly extended mag release and slide release. And of course the Kimber Tactical Rail for accessory mounting. Until Kimber, most of these features were found only as aftermarket custom options. The TLE/RL II in my opinion, is the most .45 ACP 1911 for the money -- period.

It would be crazy to call the Kimber Custom TLE/RL II pistol "just another 1911." The TLE/RL was designed and built specifically to produce a handgun answering the needs of those personnel who perform 'special operations' functions. In fact, the TLE is exactly the same pistol carried by LAPD SWAT, with the exception of slide markings. Though the basic design is that of John Browning's legendary 1911, this design has been modified in such a way as to produce an amazing pistol.

Weighing in at thirty-nine (39) ounces, the substance of the pistol is noticeable and comforting in my hand. Some of the characteristics are quite standard for a full-size government model pistol: five inch barrel, seven round magazines and a trigger pull that breaks at about 5 lbs, according to our RBCS trigger pull gauge.

The Kimber came in a double locking plastic hard-case which included a 7rd blued magazine, gun lock, and disassembly tool. It did not (that I could find) include an allen wrench for adjusting the trigger's overtravel screw. This didn't seem to be an issue as I discovered later that the overtravel was preset from the manufacturer.

The grips of the weapon are rubberized double-diamond, which provide a very secure non-slip hold. The sights on my test gun are adjustable Meprolight Tritium 3-dot night sights which have been zeroed prior to leaving the factory. My hands are medium size and flipping the safety was very comfortable and gave an audible 'click'. The slide has serrations both front and rear which provide an excellent gripping surface for chambering that first round, clearing malfunctions, or performing a 'press-check' (although not necessary with the chambered round indicator). The mainspring housing and the front strap of the frame are both checkered at thirty lines-per-inch, and the beavertail grip-safety is compressed without notice as the shooter holds the weapon.

The TLE II incorporates Kimber’s new Tactical Extractor for flawless feeding and extraction. Further safeties include the usual half-cock notch (safety stop); disconnect safety and a loaded chamber indicator. The loaded chamber indicator is a notch milled into the top rear of the chamber itself. The shooter can look down at the top of the weapon and see the rim of the cartridge case if there is a round chambered. Also featured is Kimber’s Series II safety system which they claim does not alter trigger pull or operation in any way.

Comfortable with the operation of the pistol and familiar with all of the safeties, the time came to load magazines and test shooting performance. It's been my experience that the weapon is often better than the shooter, and this time proved no different.

Shooting at an outdoor range, using natural light, my shooting partner and I put the pistol through its paces. Off-hand firing from the ten-yard line, seven shot groups averaged less than 2.25". The only malfunction we experienced was attributed to a crimping error in some of our handloads.

Firing through a PACT Chronograph, we established our 5.4gr Titegroup/200gr FMJ RN were running about 840fps avg. The Kimber was sending rounds down range about 20-30fps faster than my shooting partner's 5" Colt.

The only issue I noticed with the TLE was a little too much take-up slack (pre-travel) in the trigger for my shooting preference. Although I haven't had the opportunity to gauge the specifics, I suspect a quality trigger-job by Tussey Custom will take care of it.

Overall I rate the TLE/RL II as a four-star special duty pistol and would be a reliable and accurate manstopper worthy of everyday carry for any LE or Military operator.

There is some discussion in the medical community that bipolar is a form of temporal lobe epilepsy, and that the extreme mood states are in fact a form of seizure.

Here is a short study of thirteen patients with bipolar I disorder and epilepsy. There are overlaps- mood swings for a start, although it has been shown that manic episodes of bipolar I are more severe than those witnessed in temporal lobe epilepsy.

It was suggested when I was seventeen that I suffered from Temporal Lobe Epilepsy as I was experiencing psychosis. If you ever think it's easy to be diagnosed with a mental illness, you're wrong, it's extremely difficult. After running through the gamut of being called an attention seeker, doctors will try to rule out other causes. For example, physical illnesses such as Multiple Sclerosis can present symptoms that need psychiatric treatment. But my symptoms overlapped with TLE. It was eventually ruled out, but you can see why they tested me.

If you look at the symptoms of TLE, they do correspond with symptoms of bipolar I disorder:

Simple partial seizures:

Simple Partial Seizures (SPS) involve small areas of the temporal lobe and do not affect consciousness. These are seizures which primarily cause sensations. These sensations may be mnestic such as déjà vu (a feeling of familiarity), jamais vu (a feeling of unfamiliarity), a specific single or set of memories, or amnesia. The sensations may be auditory such as a sound or tune, or gustatory such as a taste, or olfactory such as a smell that is not truly present. Sensations can also be visual or involve feelings on the skin or in the internal organs. The latter feelings may seem to move over the body. Dysphoric or euphoric feelings, fear, anger, and other sensations can also occur during SPS. Often, it is hard for persons with SPS of TLE to describe the feeling. SPS are often called "auras," and are sometimes thought to be preludes to actual seizures. The latter is incorrect. SPS are seizures.

The experiences in simple partial seizures are similar to those experienced in mania- for example, hallucinations, dysphoria and euphoria, fear and anger.

Something rarely discussed is the cognitive impact of bipolar disorder, such as problems with memory. I experience this, and over years of episodes, my ability to recall events (especially when it comes to things that have been said) and to think clearly has been corroded. I also experience memory blanks when in episodes. I can't clearly remember any of my manic episodes and with rapid-cycling, short manic or depressive episodes yield blanks for me.

Then there is complex partial seizures which touches on something very interesting:

Signs may include motionless staring, automatic movements of the hands or mouth, inability to respond to others, unusual speech, or unusual behaviors.

Doesn't that sound like severe catatonic depression and the negative symptoms of schizophrenia?

The similarities end at the point of tonic-clonic seizures.

Remember that bipolar disorder I is not just experiencing severe mood swings. There is a whole host of physical and cognitive symptoms. Mania and depression both involve physical tics such as restlessness, twitching and repetive movement for mania to lack of response in depression. The brain processes things at different speeds in different mood states- too fast in mania, too slow in depression. Memory is impaired, the ability to concentrate is destroyed and at both ends of the rainbow there is psychosis.

There is also some discussion that temporal lobe epilepsy can result in hyperreligiousity, which is also a feature of mania.

Don't overlook that these are extremely generalised symptoms, though.

So why are bipolar disorder and TLE often treated with the same medications? Something massively overlooked by those who don't believe in mental illness is that in a lot of cases, the medication works. There is some biological basis to bipolar disorder, or else medication would have no effect. ECT would be rendered useless.

It isn't a case of simply numbing the person. I take a combination of medication because I have just been diagnosed but my situation isn't at all representative. Quite a lot of people take one drug- a mood stabiliser or an antipsychotic, and many people take two (those with bipolar II generally take an antidepressant and a mood stabiliser). I started at one- Lithium for mania. My secondary problem, because I experience mania often, is psychosis, so an antipsychotic was added. Then an antidepressant for depression, which was then taken away and Depakote was added for rapid-cycling. All my medications seek to stabilise me. Antidepressants can help depression. Antipsychotics can help psychosis. Antimanics can help mania.

It's keeping a balance rather than seeking to destroy the feelings and functions of the patient. A lot of people manage to function normally on medications whereas they weren't able to before. Some people don't, and some people do not take medication for their illness, either out of unwillingness or because they have a mild form of bipolar disorder. However, there is always the risk that mild will become full blown. Is it behavioural or is it biological? Why does it become worse unmedicated?

The thing is, nobody knows why bipolar medication works. Lithium, one of the oldest drugs for bipolar mania, was discovered by accident and doctors still have no idea how it works. So it's pretty obvious as to why people won't take medication. Do you really want to put a drug in your body when you have no idea how it works? There's more concrete evidence on the mechanics of heroin than on the mechanics of psychiatric medication.

They may be treated with similar drugs because they present similiar symptoms. However, the overlaps in no way mean that they are similiar illnesses. The symptoms of mental illness displayed in TLE are not the whole story.

However, it were proven that bipolar (and possibly even schizophrenia) were forms of epilepsy then it would revolutionise the way they are treated. Physical illnesses garner more sympathy and understanding than mental illnesses. The psychiatric symptoms of physical illnesses are unfortunate side effects of the illness, whereas when the symptoms are the unfortunate illness, the view is quite different.

For example, take the criticism people like me who write about our mental illnesses receive (just cast your eyes over the comments and I could share e-mails I get). I am told often that my illness isn't real and that I am, as a person, flawed for having this illness. It is unlikely that if I wrote about these symptoms- and symptoms is what they are- while suffering from a physical illness that encompassed these symptoms it would be different. Because physical illnesses are provable, whereas mental illnesses are not. Therefore the physical illness will always be more credible than the mental illness.

If mental illnesses were provable and partially attributed to a biological cause like epilepsy, then the treatment of mental illness and those who have it would change drastically. People who have epilepsy aren't viewed as burdens to society. People would finally understand that we mean it when we say that we don't do this to ourselves. The suffering caused by it to ourselves and loved ones isn't something we embrace and encourage. The opinion of diagnosis of mental illness as a societal tool for cataloguing and catergorising behavioural problems would be dismissed as physical illnesses do present the same symptoms. It would be nice not to be seen as psychos and fuck ups to be seen as people who have an illness that needs treatment as any other.
